Fauna-flora habitat areas (FFH-RL) with peatland
Description
Digital national overview map of the geometries of all Lower Saxony's fauna-flora habitat areas (FFH areas) with proportions of peatland (carbon-rich soils with relevance for climate protection in accordance with BHK50 [LBEG] and additional peatland biotopes in accordance with biotope type mapping [NLWKN]).In accordance with EC Directive 92/43/EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora (Fauna-Flora Habitats Directive, FFH), each Member State must designate areas for a coherent ecological network of protected areas. The database presents all notified FFH areas for Lower Saxony, including those already identified by the EU Commission as "Sites of Community Importance", which have a proportion of peatland.
