Documentation of measurement network planning
Description
Air quality assessment points shall be located at appropriate locations to provide representative and robust data for the assessment of air quality. When selecting the sites, the aim of the measurement, the size of the study area, the burden on the population, the local and supra-regional emission situation and above all, must be taken into account. The Measurement Concept Ordinance on the Air Pollution Control Act (Immissionsschutzgesetz-Luft) lays down comprehensive criteria for this, which must be implemented by the measuring network operators in the federal states. Likewise, the measurement network planning and the basics of site selection must be documented and deviations from the legally stipulated criteria must be justified. For the first time, this report summarises the transmitted data and information on the choice of location throughout Austria.
