Description
Persistent rainfall in recent weeks has led to heavy flooding in large parts of Germany. The local forces are supported by the Federal Police, the Bundeswehr and the Technische Hilfswerk. The apex wave reached Magdeburg on Sunday, June 9, the level has been falling slowly ever since. The dikes are strongly soaked, so that the situation remains tense and so far no all-clear has been given. Pléiades data with a spatial resolution of 0.5 meters serve as a map background and to derive the water mask. Please note that the flood situation under vegetation cover and cloud shadow may not be fully captured. This product was created within the framework contract “ZKI-DE” between the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) and the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR).
