Previous description of data:
Continuous Nature Type Mapping of Protected Areas (knas) is a nationally homogeneous habitat type classification of protected areas. The KAS mapping covers nature reserves, national parks, nature conservation areas and Natura 2000 sites. It is used as a basis for strategies and practical conservation work as well as for national and international reporting. Knas is a satellite image-based classification of forest types that is combined with different map data (road map, terrain map, Swedish soil cover data (SMD), meadow and pasture inventory (TUVA).
