SFS-ISO 2108 International Standard Identifier (ISBN) for a book or other separate work
Description
In principle, the ISBN is assigned to all books with a thickness of more than 48 pages, each version (bound, stapled, PDF) with a different identifier. The ISBN is unique and permanent and thus effectively acts as a search key for the information in the publication. In principle, ISBN can now also be applied to identifying parts of a book, such as individual articles in a collection of articles. Online ISBN can be presented as a URN to provide a permanent link to the publication.(22.8.2011)
