Description
Under the Aviation Act, it has been determined where the noise zones around domestic airports are located. The government has established noise zones mainly to limit noise pollution for residents of airports. In addition, the zones have a function from the point of view of spatial planning. Within the zones, for example, restrictions apply to new construction and to the establishment of certain companies and existing noise-sensitive buildings (houses, schools, etc.) are insulated if necessary.
Rotterdam Airport is located on the northern outskirts of Rotterdam. Air traffic can use a paved runway of 2200 x 45 meters. The track is suitable for use in less favourable weather conditions. There is a night regime at night. Apart from small-scale flights, Rotterdam Airport mainly operates scheduled flights and, to a lesser extent, charter and cargo flights.
