Plan Flood Prevention Dresden - Remaining Hazards from Floods
Description
Settlement areas on the Elbe and on second-order waters are shown in which no improvement in the existing level of protection against floods can be achieved in the long term or which, despite flood protection measures taken, will remain below the desired level of protection of HQ 100.
Groundwater floods, i.e. groundwater levels less than three meters below the surface of the site due to flooding, can affect significant areas in the Dresden Elbaue. The remaining threat from groundwater, taking into account above-ground flood prevention measures, represents the expected minimum groundwater level after an HQ 100 of the Elbe in three classes from 0 m to 3 m below ground. Especially in the floodplains of second-order waters, groundwater gaps of less than three meters can also occur permanently. These are not shown here.
