NP3h2021 AIS other passive gears
Description
The static theme. The theme shows data for the 2021 revised Natura 2000 baseline analysis 2022-2027 underlying the 2022 consultation of the Natura 2000 plans 2022-2027.
The theme shows position data for fishing vessels with non-bottom contacting gear within Natura 2000 areas. Position data for fishing vessels with non-bottom contacting gears have been compiled for other passive gears such as traps, pots, lines and pound nets in the period 2013-2018. The potential fishery is shown on the map with AIS (Automatic Identification System) data. AIS data is displayed at varying frequencies down to every two seconds. The points shown are for a given speed of the vessel at which it is assumed the fishing can take place.
