The Grained Mountain Forest Drill Beetle (Stephanopachys substriatus) in the Gesäuse National Park
Description
Historical evidence exists not only from the entire Alpine region, but also from the nearest surroundings of the Gesäuse National Park. It was therefore obvious to start first attempts to provide a current detection of Stephanopachy’s substriatus in this area. In the course of the 2005 investigations, no evidence of the grained Bergwald drill beetle could be provided. However, due to the assessment of potential and taking into account historical evidence, the occurrence of this FFH protective material in the Gesäuse National Park is quite likely.
