Hydrants for fire-extinguishing purposes
Description
The water supply association Perlenbach (www.wasserwerk-perlenbach.de) in the Eifel operates the Wasserwerk Perlenbach (WWP) and supplies approximately 18,500 households with drinking water.
The supply area is approximately 400 km² and comprises the following municipalities, respectively parts of the municipalities Hürtgenwald, Kreuzau, Monschau, Nideggen, Roetgen, Simmerath and Heimbach.
According to the Feuerschutzhilfeleistungsgesetz Nordrhein-Westfalen (fshg NRW), the member municipalities are responsible for local fire protection. Within the scope of its operational capacity, the WWP makes extinguishing water available free of charge to its municipalities via the hydrants.
