1 metre contour line from shore line elevation
Description
The 1 m contour line from shore line elevation is not the classic contour line from EH2000 zero.
The 1 m contour line from the elevation value of the shoreline is mapped one metre above the shoreline of the Baltic Sea entered in the Estonian topographic data. As the height of the shore line changes, the absolute height of the contour line also changes.
The 1 m contour line from the elevation of the shoreline is the basis for restrictions on the use of the coastal areas of the Baltic Sea. The "boundary of an area with repeated flooding on the seashore" specified in § 35(3)1) of the Nature Conservation Act is determined by a comprehensive plan. If the boundary is not specified in the comprehensive plan, the boundary of the recurring flood area is deemed to be the 1 m contour line from the elevation value of the shore line.
