Description
Within the framework of the Forum Schall, interlaboratory tests are carried out regularly to ensure the quality of sound measurements. In a consistent continuation of this basic work, different methods for measuring building noise were compared in 2007 and the quality of the measurements of the sound insulation of external components was examined. From the results of the interlaboratory test, repeat and comparison limits for the measurement of the sound insulation of external components for the extended frequency range can be derived. The comparison of the standard procedure with the short procedure shows that measurements of building noise according to the standard procedure are no more accurate than those according to the short procedure. The measurement effort can therefore be significantly reduced without sacrificing accuracy.
