Rural Land Use Netherlands – LGN4
Description
The LGN4 file is a grid file with a resolution of 25 meters in which 39 forms of land use are distinguished. The stock distinguishes the main agricultural crops, a number of nature classes and urban classes. The file was produced using satellite images from 1999 and 2000 and other relevant spatial information.
Land use files. LGN1 and LGN2 were still experimental stocks with limited accuracy and clear deficiencies. In LGN3, these shortcomings have been largely resolved and LGN3plus greatly improves the usability of the file for applications in the field of nature and ecology.
The LGN4 file has taken a new step in expanding the application capabilities of the LGN file. Important improvements made to the LGN4 file include a link of agricultural crops to TOP10 vector and the ability to change
to be detected in land use, which occurred during the period 1995-2000.
The previous versions of the LGN file were delivered as a single raster file. However, due to the new possibilities, the LGN4 file does not consist of a single raster file, but forms a collection of files.
