Increased seismic activity on Brava Island, Cape Verde, was observed the 01 August 2016. There were low intensity tremors felt in coastal areas. Authorities have evacuated 300 people from the island situated in the south of the Cape Verde archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean due to concerns of a volcanic eruption.
