Habitats of selected large bird species of particular importance
Description
The avifaunistic data available to the competent authority for nature conservation are evaluated on the basis of the evaluation system for breeding bird habitats applied in Lower Saxony (evaluation levels from "local" to "national significance") and on the basis of the Red List of breeding birds endangered in Lower Saxony and Bremen as well as breeding birds endangered in Germany. The most up-to-date data from a period of 5 years (depending on the data situation and processing status) were used for the assessment of an area from the data reported in the Lower Saxony bird species collection programme. Within the framework of the Lower Saxony bird species collection program, no nationwide regular mappings are carried out, but it is a data collection of voluntary and partly commissioned stock collections. For selected species (e.g. large bird species), a special assessment is carried out in accordance with the assessment procedure. It should be noted that only the data available at the time of the evaluation can be evaluated and the classification depends strongly on the respective data situation of a species.
