Digitalisation in the audience work of cultural institutions 2018
Description
The aim of the survey was to map the practices, challenges and needs of cultural actors in the audience relationship maintained by digital means. This refers to activities in which a cultural actor interacts with its audiences, customers or visitors, or any other activity that enables audiences to participate in the activities of the cultural institution.
The survey was aimed at Finnish professional cultural institutions and actors of all sizes with performance, exhibition or service activities aimed at the public.
The survey was carried out from 5 December 2017 to 28 January 2018. The survey was conducted using the Webropol survey tool. A total of 160 responses were received.
The survey relates to the study project “Digitality in the public work of cultural operators” launched by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The project will map the practices, challenges and needs of organisations in digital audience engagement, increase cooperation and support the work of cultural actors. The survey was carried out jointly by the Ministry of Education and Culture and Cupore, the Centre for Cultural Policy Research.
The data contains only the quantitative parts of the survey. Open response fields have been removed from the data.
