Soil height map, base map for the Zoute Ecotopen Westerschelde 2004
Description
An ecotope map was made of the Westerschelde in 2004. A salty ecotope map is built up by merging several layers of information from the intertidal area: soil height map (height and depth), geomorphological map, dry-fall duration map, flow map and salt map. The bottom height map is based on leads (depth) 2004 and laser altimetry (height) 2004.
Laser altimetry data combined with singlebeam trade discharge data where the laser altimetry data has been given a higher priority than the discharge data. In order to fill the entire ecotope map, it was then supplemented with multi-amplifications and additional data on Flemish territory.
