Metrological detection of the northern chamber of the Sülfeld ship lock system — point cloud of UAS recordings
Description
This data set contains point clouds generated from images of an unmanned area system (UAS), colloquially drones. The “Matrice M300” was used for drone-assisted condition detection. Two digital cameras attached to the UAS were used to capture images of the ship’s lock. The Sony Alpha 7 RII was used to create close-ups with a ground sample distance of about 0.5 millimeters, while the Sony RX0II was used to create orthophotos using overlapping single images with a ground resolution of about 2 centimeters. The UAS was manually controlled without pre-programmed flight routes. The lock walls and gates were picked up at a distance of about three meters. The trajectory ran in the so-called grid flight from the upper edge of the lock chamber or the lock gate to the sole, so that an overlap of the individual images of sixty to seventy percent could be ensured.
