Description

This table contains figures on the turnover and volume development of the hospitality industry. The figures can be broken down by branch according to the Standard Business Classification (SBI 2008) of Statistics Netherlands. The development is shown as a percentage change compared to a previous period and by means of indices with the base year 2015. Turnover and volume developments are published in two forms. First of all, as year-on-year developments in which growth compared to the same period in the previous year is central. These figures are presented uncorrected. The second form concerns period-on-period developments, for example quarter-on-quarter. Period-on-period developments are possible by applying seasonal adjustment. Data available from: 1st quarter 2005. Status of figures: All figures in the table are final. Changes as of 29 May 2024: The 2023 figures have been updated. Due to government measures related to the coronavirus, some services were unavailable or limited in the second and fourth quarters of 2020 and in the first quarter of 2021. As a result, for some of these services there were no transactions whose prices could be measured. The lack of sufficient transactions is the reason why volume figures are not given for some branches. When will there be new figures? No longer applicable. This table was discontinued as a result of the five-yearly base shift as at 31 May 2024 and followed by a new table (see the Trade and Services table in paragraph 3).
