Breeding birds in the settlement area

Description

The Alpensegler breeds only in the city of Freiburg and exclusively in buildings. The species reacts sensitively to changes in the buildings in which it breeds, especially when the access to the breeding grounds is blocked during renovations. The tower tower has disappeared from many areas of the canton. In some regions, the stock could be maintained as nesting boxes were installed. In Freiburg, Murten and Romont several couples breed in buildings. Both species are protected and on the Red List. If work is planned on buildings in the immediate vicinity of a breeding ground of Alpine sailors or tower towers, please contact the Office of Forest and Nature.
