This file contains deposit areas and estates located within the province of Groningen.
In Groningen about 200 deposits have stood, a small number of deposits still exist. The guarantors were initially the fortified stone houses of the land nobility of Groningen, later they grew into country houses with sometimes an extensive estate. Most of the locks have been demolished. Of the locking areas is described the name and the terrain elements, whether visible or not. As a source, the ‘hidden lands’ file was used as an inventory of Landschapsbeheer Groningen. In addition to deposit areas, new estates are also part of the inventory.
