Earthquakes - earthquakes: Underground classes
Description
The online map earthquake events represents the earthquakes registered by the State Earthquake Service Rhineland-Palatinate (LER) since the year 2000. As shown in the description of Stationsnetzs, the LER is a locally oriented measuring network, only quakes in the vicinity of Rhineland-Palatinate are shown. A table listing the registered earthquakes can be found here.:The map of earthquake zones and geological underground classes for Rhineland-Palatinate refers to DIN 4149:2005-04. Load assumptions, design and execution of civil buildings, published by the DIN Deutsches Institut für Normung e.V., Burggrafenstr. 6, D-10787 Berlin. Non-tectonic seismic induced events are not the subject of this presentation (DIN 4149:2005-04, Chapter 5.1). Gefährdung within each earthquake zone is assumed to be uniform, except for the variations resulting from different subsoil conditions. For this purpose, a distinction is made between the geological subsurface classes.
