Description
The map shows the spring number of the soil moisture level for the 30-year period 1991-2020.
The soil moisture level (BKF) allows a statement about the moisture situation of sites. It provides information on possible agricultural use and restrictions on use due to drought or humidity. The BKF takes into account soil, hydrological, morphological and climatic characteristics. For the assessment of the humidity situation, 12 humidity levels (from dry to wet) are distinguished. Depending on the soil type, separate values are also determined according to the season (spring/summer number, e.g. 6/2). Differences between spring and summer numbers can occur, for example, in soils affected by congestion, which are significantly wetter in spring than in summer. The spring number describes the moisture state of a site, in the case of soils affected by congestion water, the state in the spring months when congestion water occurs.
