Description
The Forest BD Version 2 is a reference database for forest space and semi-natural environments. It is the geographical reference for the description of forest species. It describes forest and natural plant formations by an approach to soil cover reflecting a description of the stand’s cover density, composition and dominant essence, for elements over 5 000 m² (i.e. 0.5 hectares). The Forest BD version 2 is a reference tool for the forest-wood sector, the environment, spatial planning and sustainable development (management, fire, resource, supply, certification, etc.) and acts in support of various projects (land planning, resource assessment and environmental quality, risk prevention, knowledge of biodiversity and ecological continuity, description of landscapes and natural environments, etc.).
