Continuation of the mapping of protective goods butterfly fauna in accordance with the Habitats Directive (5 species) in the Gesäuse National Park.

Description

The activities carried out in 2012 represent a continuation of the studies in the Gesäuse on the FFH-protected butterfly species in the Gesäuse (Koschuh, 2010). The growth of knowledge was also due to findings by Heinz Habeler and Herbert Kerschbaumsteiner from years before and partly also in the current year 2012, which were communicated to me verbally or in writing. On the one hand, the aim was to identify known occurrences with regard to parcel-sharp delimitation of habitats, to locate more precisely, to close existing mapping gaps of possible occurrences, to narrow and describe populated habitats with regard to the use of host plants and host irons more precisely and to gain knowledge of the mobility of animals. With conservation status A, the occurrence of Parnassius apollo is vital. Furthermore, in the area of the National Park is found in stable stocks Parnassius mnemosyne (Conservation State B) and locally in small stocks (Conservation State C) Maculinea arion (Lawinenrinne Kalktal). However, the level of knowledge has improved since then, and in 2010 H. Kerschbaumsteiner was able to rediscover Lopinga achine near Gstatterboden for the Ennstal. By H. Habeler (mdl. With Euphydryas aurinia, a protected species of FFH of Annex II was also found in the lime valley for the first time. Since it is a single find, it is still unclear what status the species has in the area. Furthermore, the level of knowledge on the spread of potential caterpillar food plants of Parnassius mnemosyne has also improved in the area. In addition, the editor is also better aware of the phenology of species in the area.
