JHS 161 E-mail addresses in public administration
Description
This Recommendation defines general guidelines for the creation of Internet e-mail addresses in such a way that the creation and presentation of addresses would be harmonised throughout the public administration. Harmonised addresses simplify transactions between public authorities and between citizens and administrations. It is also recommended that each authority has at least one public address. The use of role addresses is also recommended. In addition, the Recommendation provides guidance on how to set up the e-mail addresses of individuals. The recommendation is intended for use by the public administration. The recommendation focuses on email addresses and the way in which they are created. The recommendation does not take a position on e-mail processing, data security or data protection. (18.8.2011)
