Dunes in the hinterland
The Loonse and Drunense Dunes are protected nature reserve (Natura2000). However, the sand drifts and heaths in the area are at risk of being overgrown by forest (succession). Natuurmonumenten has already taken some measures to stop this process. Do these measures work? Why or not? Is more needed? This is what teams of fourth-year students from the Avans University of Applied Sciences in Breda are investigating. To this end, they link map data from the ANK to their own research. They build on the work of students from previous years.
