Avatar: Public platform for traffic data of road managers
Description
The AVATAR platform, for **Automatic Data Analysis and Visualisation by TrAfic Routier**, aims to **collect traffic data from all road managers** (state, departments, metropolitan areas, municipalities, etc.) and to **provide open and qualified data** to decision-makers, businesses, road operators, the media and the general public.
All road managers can contribute to the platform and share their data.
The quality of traffic data varies depending on the collection systems. For this reason, AVATAR carries out processing on the data collected in order to **clean, correct and complete the data**.
The data can be downloaded:
1) either by territory or manager, [https://avatar.cerema.fr/territories](https://avatar.cerema.fr/territories)
2) either from the **Cartography ** tab gives access to all the measurement points of AVATAR partner managers. These measurement points retrieve traffic information such as throughput in real time.

The user can choose one or more measurement points, select a time period and display various graphical analyses of the data. Once the measurement points are selected, the traffic data is freely downloadable by all users of the platform.
3) is accessible [**via an API**](https://avatar.cerema.fr/api/doc) which allows specifying complex queries and machine-to-machine connections. To do this, users are asked to create an Orion account so that they can be identified when sending requests.
Currently, 11 managers feed the platform. The number of feeder managers is expected to increase significantly in the coming months.
