Census of sports equipment, spaces and practice sites – Equipment in Lower Normandy
Description
The identification of sports equipment, spaces and practice sites (RES) concerns, with the stated objective of completeness, all equipment, in service, public or private, open to the public free of charge or for payment. The essential criterion is that any person can access it (individually or through a public or private [associative or commercial] structure), free of charge or paid, with the main objective of engaging in physical and/or sporting activity. The census fixes within this framework 30 large families of sports equipment divided into 160 types.
Sports equipment is a surface allowing, on its own, the practice of one or more physical and/or sporting activities. It contains a minimum of specific material allowing compliance with the principles and rules related to the practice of these principles (Ex: a legible layout on the floor and cages for a handball field,...). A nomenclature of almost 160 types was selected for the census.
(Sports facility is a place characterised by an address, where one or more sports equipment is located)
In the case of a single equipment, the usual names of the installation and equipment may be identical and/or correspond to a sports equipment nomenclature (Ex:Multisport Room). The geographies surrounding the census are those in effect on January 1, 2013.
