Habitat map Lieftinghsbroek 2013
Description
This file contains the habitat types of Habitats Directive site Liefthingsbroek, based on the 2013 vegetation map. A habitat map shows exactly where a protected type of nature occurs in a Natura 2000 site. Because no birds are protected in Habitats Directive areas, the map is limited to habitat types and habitats of species from the Habitats Directive. In Birds Directive areas only habitats of species are on the map. The habitats that are currently mapped concern only the nitrogen-sensitive habitats. The maps are made, among other things, for the management plans and when granting permission (Nature Protection Act). The maps form the objective basis for this.The preparation of habitat maps is the responsibility of the competent authority: the provinces and (for the large waters) Rijkswaterstaat (RWS). The basis for habitat maps is formed by vegetation maps. The preparation of these vegetation maps is outsourced by provinces and RWS, usually to landowners, who in turn outsource it to (independent) mapping agencies. The vegetation maps are processed into a habitat map using a nationally agreed method of translation and interpretation. The competent authority shall ensure that this is done in an objective manner in accordance with the agreements. Subsequently, an inter-administrative validation process takes place, in which a number of experts in the field of habitat mapping carefully assess the maps and make suggestions for corrections where necessary. Provinces and RWS are responsible for the final establishment of a map, not the owners of the nature reserves.
