Pollution: monitoring of industrial flows

Description

Industrial pollution flows are calculated as part of the collection of non-domestic pollution charges. These flows are calculated either by a real and regular monitoring system for industries above a certain threshold defined by regulation or by a formula taking into account indicators specific to the activity of the industry (sizes characteristic of polluting activities). In the latter case, we speak of the theoretical level of pollution (NTP). This can lead to biases in the data, which can affect their physical representativeness. Thus, their use in another context, in particular to assess the pressure exerted by the various activities on the natural environment, must be the subject of some caution and remains the sole responsibility of the user. Before any summary by administrative division (Region, Department, etc.), it should be noted that the geographical area of intervention of the Water Agency is based on a hydrographic division of the national territory. Some regions or departments are therefore only partially covered by the data managed by the Water Agency. **A significant break in the calculation of indicators is to be noted from 2008, the year of the implementation of the Law on Water and Aquatic Environments (LEMA – 30 December 2006).** The data on these industrial flows are described in the attached dictionary, which is available in the form of a spreadsheet. The list of fields is presented as well as lists of values specific to certain data and which make it possible to explain the codifications used in the data. **Data is in UTF-8 format where each field is separated by a semicolon and enclosed by quotation marks for "text" fields.**
