Description
The usury rate corresponds to the maximum legal interest rate that credit institutions are allowed to charge when granting a loan; granting a usurious loan or contributing to the granting of a usurious loan is an offence punishable by imprisonment. The rate of usury is intended to protect borrowers. The Banque de France is in charge of the quarterly calculation of the usury rate, the methods of calculation of which are defined by the Consumer Code.
This dataset includes, on the one hand, all the links to all the ministerial notices published in the Official Journal since 1 January 2005 determining the thresholds of usury in force and, on the other hand, all these rates for consumer credits (also called "cash credits" in these texts)
