Troyes Champagne Metropole Level Curves

Description

The product ‘Level curves’ is a vector version of the altimeter level curves (also known as ‘isohypses’) present in IGN’s cartographic products. Calculated from RGE ALTI® data, they make it possible to apprehend the terrain in a complementary way to traditional digital terrain models (DTMs) and facilitate overlaying with business data for cartographic use. Level Curves – Version 1.0 – Content Description – July 2021 **TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS** **1. Data sources** The ALTI ® RGE data used may come from different sources depending on the acquisition techniques (see document DC_RGEALTI_2-0.pdf on the IGN geoservices website). **2. Equidistance** The curves of the product "Level curves" are calculated with an equidistance of 5 meters. The equidistance is the vertical distance that separates on the ground the horizontal planes containing two successive contour lines of a map. **3.Master curves** The notion of "master curve" is useful in cartography to be able to prioritize the representation of certain curves. The IMPORTANCE attribute makes it possible to distinguish curves whose altitude is a multiple of 25 metres. **4. Topography** The notion of bowl and top is useful in topography to be able to determine the nature of isolated loops. The NAT_TOPO attribute distinguishes curves that represent a vertex or a bowl. **Following the text of the fields**: ID: Object identifier ALTITUDE: Altitude of the curve, in metres NAT_TOPO: Topographical nature of the curve (Possible values | 0: Cuvette | 1: Slope |2: Summit) IMPORTANCE: Classification of curves according to divisibility by 25 (Possible values | 0: Other curves (normal curves) | 1: Curves whose altitude is a multiple of 25 (master curves) INFORMATION: THE DATA GAME IS AVAILABLE IN THREE FORMATS (*.XLSX, *.CSV AND *.GPKG).
