In Haute-Savoie, Sensitive Natural Spaces (ENS) play a crucial role in preserving biodiversity and promoting nature. The Departmental Council of Haute-Savoie has an ambitious policy to protect and manage these spaces. The department is home to 205 ENS-labelled natural and agricultural areas, covering nearly 34,800 hectares. These areas include lakesides, forests, pastures, rivers and wastelands, representing various natural environments and landscapes in the region.
