Description
**In order to implement the guidelines of the Regional Strategy for the Sea and the Coast, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region has carried out an exhaustive inventory of ports and port cities on the scale of the region's coastline.** **This study of the maritime heritage of ports consists of all the functional elements of the port, which are non-movable, non-demountable and permanent, with the aim of enhancing this heritage as a tool for economic development and supporting an understanding of the territory and its past and future changes.** The scope of the study includes all ports located on the coast of the region and of heritage interest, based on a functional approach that includes 9 heritage areas: Defence of the port territory / Beliefs of seafarers / Port signs / Coastal protection / Administration of port activity / Land/sea transition equipment / Trade and production related to the sea / Industrial and commercial activities / Establishments related to health This dataset contains a file in Geojson format representing the**surface elements****described during the study conducted on port cities** It is also associated with that of the [illustrations of the elements of the study](https://www.datasud.fr/explorer/fr/jeeux-de-donnees/illustrations-etude-patrimoine-portuaire-provence-alpes-cote-d-azur-1-2/telechargements) The complete records are accessible on the site of the Heritage Inventory service, as well as a valuation of this study in the form of a cartographic recital is visible in external links.
