Territorial communities participating in the Southern Pathway, Smart Territories, Innovative and Sustainable

An increasing number of local and regional authorities are embarking on "smart territories" initiatives or wish to initiate them, but they may encounter technical, budgetary or organisational difficulties. In order to help remove these obstacles, in 2020 the South Region launched a regional scheme for inter-municipalities (communities of municipalities, conurbation communities, metropolitan areas): South Route, Smart Territories, Innovative and Sustainable. This dataset lists the 26 inter-municipalities that won this call for expressions of interest, initially entitled Parcours Sud Smart Territoires in 2020 and 2021. [A new call for expressions of interest has been launched since 15 December 2023](https://www.datasud.fr/portal/news/journeys-south-territories-smart) Pathway South, Smart Territories, Innovative and Sustainable is structured around 4 objectives: * \\- Promote the intermunicipalities involved\, by awarding the label Sud\, Smart, innovative and sustainable territories; * \\- Accelerate the emergence of environmentally virtuous "smart territories" projects\ by providing engineering support to local teams; * \\- Implement structural and virtuous projects from an environmental point of view\, by allocating regional funding; * \\- Sharing and capitalising on experiences and good practices\, through an approach of animating actors and sharing information\\. All the main areas covered by the scheme are covered by these applications: data governance and administration; intelligent networks and systems for the management of public utilities; environment; mobility and logistics; natural, health and technological risks; local economy; citizenship; management of the relationship with users.
