Traffic signalling data determining the Maximum Allowed Speed

Description

The data correspond to the traffic signs determining the maximum authorised speed, in accordance with the Highway Code and the Interministerial Road Sign Instruction. It should be noted that the maximum authorised speed on the road is: • either the general scheme defined in the Highway Code, depending on the characteristics of the road: o Motorway: 130 km/h o Road with two carriageways separated by a central plenum: 110 km/h o Section of road with at least two lanes assigned to the same direction of traffic: 90 km/h o Dual-sense road, without central separator: 80 km/h (or 90 km/h by decision of the president of the departmental council after opinion of the prefect and the departmental commission of road safety) o Agglomeration: 50 km/h • either a derogating speed regime, on the decision of the authorities vested with the power of traffic police (mayors, prefects, president of departmental council). The data cover the roads of interest identified by the territorial services of the Normandy, Brittany, Pays-de-Loire, Centre-Val-de-Loire, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Grand-Est and Hauts-de France regions (i.e. a total of 55 departments). **Producer:** Ministry of the Interior, Road Safety Delegation (DSR). **Metadata:** The files are in CSV format. The separator used between two columns is the semicolon.
