Digital Basic Landscape Model
Description
The basic DLM (AAA) is part of the Official Topographical Cartographic Information System (ATKIS®) and is based on the common data model for AFIS®, ALKIS® and ATKIS®.
The Digital Basic Landscape Model describes the topographical objects of the landscape and the relief of the earth’s surface in vector format. The objects are assigned to a particular object type and defined by their spatial location, their geometric type, descriptive attributes and relationships with other objects (relations). The spatial position is specified for the base DLM regardless of scale and image. Each object has a unique object identifier (OID) throughout Germany, which is preserved throughout the entire lifetime of the object.
The scope of information of the basic DLM is based on the content of the topographic map 1:25,000, but has a higher position accuracy (required to be ± 3 m) for the most important point- and line-shaped objects.
The data is modelled two-dimensionally and does not have any information on the graphic design. They are updated on a quarterly basis.
The BKG distinguishes two product specifications for data delivery:
Compact: Database with all content elements as inventory data extract. The data format is the norm-based exchange interface (NAS). Levels: Data collection with a predefined content structuring of the data in thematic levels. The ESRI-Shape industry standard is used as a data format.
