Study on the French and Information

Description

### Description of data: Arcom publishes data from a study on the French report on information. The study was conducted on a representative sample of 3356 French people aged 15 and over. It aims to provide a comprehensive overview of relations between the French and information. Among the questions, how do French people get information and feel that they are well informed? How do they choose their sources? What knowledge do they have of social networks and how they work? What is the image of the media and journalists? What vision of regulation? As the core of Arcom’s missions focused more specifically on ‘political and general information’, part of the questionnaire was administered only to individuals who had declared an interest in this topic, i.e. 88% of the total sample. A report based on an initial exploitation of the results has been published by Arcom and is available here: https://www.arcom.fr/our-resources/etudes-et-donnees/mediatheque/les-francais-et-linformation In an opening-up process, Arcom makes the database available. ### Recovery method: The sample was adjusted for the following variables: Sexe Age The French and information - ARCOM - Datamap Catégorie d’agglomération, Equipement média (Poste de télévision, Smartphone, Ordinateur et tablette) Vote au 1er tour des dernières élections présidentielles Cible (Internaute Métropole, Illectroniques, Outre-mer). Beyond the rules in force and with a view to strengthening the anonymisation of personal data, the level of granularity of certain variables has been lowered and groupings have been carried out (e.g. geographical location, latest internet use, etc.). Please also keep Arcom informed of the use of this data in publications (books, articles, etc.). Arcom shall make available: the data file, the code book, a data usage guide. ### Contact: If you have any questions about the survey or the data, please contact Laure Fallou, ARCOM Policy Officer: laure.fallou@Arcom.fr
