Plan Angela

To combat street harassment, the city of Poitiers has deployed the Angela plan since June 2022. It is based on a network of safe and supportive places (shops, town halls, neighbourhood houses, etc.) that undertake to welcome anyone feeling in situation of insecurity or sexual and gender-based harassment in the public space, regardless of age or gender, day or night.

If you are a victim of harassment or feel insecure, you can find refuge in one of the partner establishments - identified by the sticker (the illustration at the top) on its window - and ask for "Angela". This code name will allow you to be protected, you will be offered to stay safe, drink a glass of water, call a loved one or a taxi, in all kindness.
