Historical permanent grasslands (HPG) and other permanent grasslands in Flanders protected by nature legislation
Description
This GIS layer contains all historically permanent grasslands (HPG) and all permanent grasslands (in VEN) in Flanders that are protected by nature legislation, either by a prohibition or by a permit requirement for the modification of these grasslands (Articles 7 and 8 of the BVR of 23/07/1998 for the historically permanent grasslands, Article 25§3(2) of the Nature Decree and Article 6 of the Decree of measures for the permanent grasslands located in VEN). Within the agricultural region of the Polder, the historically permanent grasslands and their protection status were also established by the Flemish Government (VR) on 27/11/2015. Outside the Polder agricultural region, the VR has not legally anchored the HPG on a map, so this is merely an informative map. Outside the Polder agricultural area, the organic valuation map (BWK) in accordance with the BVR of 23/07/1998 (Annex IV and V) was used as the basis for the designation of the grasslands, corrected with the cultivation plans of the single application for agriculture for the period 2018-2022. The protection status can be consulted in the ‘Statute’ field: - Prohibition (red): HPG which is prohibited from changing the grassland. Protected by nature legislation (HPG by Article 7 of the BVR of 23/07/1998, permanent grasslands by Article 25 of the Nature Decree and Article 6 of the Decree of measures): prohibitions to modify, both mechanically, chemically and by burning, as well as prohibition of modifying relief and prohibition of overseeding - Permit (orange): HPG for which a licence is required. Protected by nature legislation (Article 8 BVR of 23/07/1998): nature permit for modification, whether mechanical, chemical or by burning, as well as for modification of the relief and overseeding. - EKBG (red shading with crosses): grasslands that are only protected under agricultural legislation as environmentally sensitive permanent grassland (EKBG): modification prohibited both for mechanical modification and for modification of relief. The ‘basis_statute’ field indicates the legal basis on which the protection of the HPG and permanent grasslands is based, and the locations in regional planning destinations and overprints (Habitats Directive, Birds Directive, Protected Landscape, VEN). The ‘restrictions’ field indicates which operations are prohibited or subject to authorisation. ! Due to a technical problem, the articles of association 'prohibition + EKBG', 'permit + EKBG' and 'prohibition (VEN) will not be visualised in Geopunt until 16 May.
