Description
The dataset “Mountain communities” https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/communes-de-montagne-30383014/est a regulatory dataset, which does not offer details of alpine massifs.
This version proposes a new reading with the classification of communes by alpine massif (Ecrins, Bauges, Mercantour etc.).
This dataset was created in several steps:
1. identification of alpine massifs (source: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/37/Massif_des_Alpes_map-fr.svg)
2. Documentary research to associate with each massif the municipalities
3. improvement of the dataset by a geographical association
