Description
This table contains information on the finances, personnel and production of companies whose main activity is, according to Standard Business Classification (SBI) 2008, welfare work for the elderly, local welfare work, social work, childcare or playgroup work.

Status of figures:
The figures in the table for the last reporting year are provisional, while the figures for previous years are definitive.
As of the reporting year 2022, the survey of companies with 1 to 10 employees will only be carried out for companies with the legal form of foundation or association. For the other group of companies with a different legal form (e.g. sole proprietorship, BV), tax returns (income tax and corporation tax) are used for the financial variables and data from the Polisadministratie (employee data UWV) for the numbers of employees and years of employment. Due to the use of these external data, not all CBS variables are available at the survey and publication level. On StatLine, these figures have been omitted since the reporting year 2022.
The aforementioned transition to the partial use of another source for companies with 1 to 10 employees has some influence on the overall level of the publication variables of the aggregation of social and local welfare work. There is a slight shift in cost structure, resulting in a less pronounced increase in labour costs and a stronger increase in unmentioned operating costs. There is also a revenue structure shift, in which the share of net turnover has increased and the share of other operating income has decreased. The levels and developments in 2022 of these variables should therefore be interpreted with some caution.
Changes as of 19 April 2024:
Provisional figures for 2022 have been added for childcare and for the aggregation of social and local welfare work. Figures for 2021 have been finalised, with the figures on the aggregation of social and local welfare work having changed as a result of fulfilled information.
When will there be new figures?
Figures for 2023 will be published in the first quarter of 2025.
