Municipalities and SRU Inventory

Description

Adopted on 13 December 2000, the Solidarity and Urban Renewal Act (SRU) aims to recreate social balance in each territory and respond to the shortage of social housing. Article 55 requires certain municipalities to have a minimum number of social housing units proportionate to their residential stock.

Regulatory Ref.: CCH L. 302-5 et seq.

The provisions of Article L302-5 of the CCH shall apply to municipalities with a population of at least 3500 inhabitants (1,500 inhabitants in Île-de-France) which are included, within the meaning of the population census, in an agglomeration or EPCI of more than 50000 inhabitants comprising at least one municipality of more than 15000 inhabitants.

This dataset contains, for the 2157 municipalities of the SRU perimeter, the situation of the municipality and the annual balance sheet of the number of social housing – or similar dwellings, as of 1 January 2022.

The data are derived from a survey carried out among the DDT(M) and DREAL/DEAL after exchanges according to the principle of adversarial procedure with the municipalities.

Data for 2023 will be published in spring 2024.
