Visual sphere of influence mounds and mound villages monitoring landscape
Description
This file contains the visual spheres of influence of mounds and mound villages, located within the province of Groningen, which are used for the monitoring landscape. Every four years, all visual spheres of influence are monitored on the basis of aerial comparison.The province of Groningen considers it important that the visibility and recognisability of mounds and mound villages is preserved. The quality of this characteristic may be affected by buildings and plantings on and in the vicinity of these mounds. That is why zones have been designated around mounds and mound villages in which municipalities are asked to take into account the visibility and recognisability of mounds and mound villages in their zoning plans. Rules for this are included in the provincial ordinance 2016.
