Description
The project “Waste Monitoring in Canteens” aims to minimise food waste in school and professional canteens by using innovative weight sensors. These sensors, placed under the waste bins, measure the weight of the waste produced each day.
This data is then collected and analysed to provide a detailed overview of daily food waste. This allows canteen managers to understand which portions of food are most often discarded and to adjust the amounts served accordingly.
The goal is to raise awareness of food waste and provide tangible data that can help develop effective strategies to reduce food waste. Ultimately, this project has the potential to generate significant environmental and economic savings.
