SCoT of the Pays de Brest: Remarkable spaces

Description

The SCoT locates indicatively the perimeters likely to contain remarkable natural areas within the meaning of the Coastal Law on the map "Implementation of the Coastal Law - 1". This location takes into account all the institutional zoning, management or nature protection (regional nature reserve, ZNIEFF types 1 and 2, Natura 2000 area, etc.) as well as the relevant data used in the context of the creation of the green and blue grid (in particular the mapping of maërl banks, eelgrass beds, etc. from the mapping campaigns carried out by IFREMER in 2007). The local planning documents delineate the remarkable spaces by specifying within the perimeters represented on the map ‘Implementation of the Coastal Law - 1’, page 54, the spaces: • having a remarkable character or characteristic of the natural and cultural heritage of the coastline; • and necessary for the maintenance of biological balances or balances of ecological interest.
