SCoT of the Pays de Brest: Trame Verte et Bleue (Map page 64 of the DOO + A0 in annex)

Description

The ecological framework of the Pays de Brest is based on large structuring and/or high ecological value natural complexes (reservoirs of major biodiversity, reservoirs of ordinary foreshore biodiversity and remarkable marine environments, etc.) and permeability spaces favourable to ecological connections. The SCoT identifies and maps these sectors favourable to biodiversity, at the level of the Pays de Brest. For this, it relies in particular on a geomatics method, statistically addressing the potential of ecological interest or permeability of natural environments. Major biodiversity sectors are essentially remarkable terrestrial natural environments (land, peatlands, etc.) or recognised heritage areas subject to protection measures (Natura 2000, ZNIEFF, etc.). Local planning documents must specify their boundaries and strictly protect them in order to maintain or even strengthen their biological richness. Ordinary biodiversity sectors include areas which, without specifically harbouring rare and/or threatened species, are at high risk for fauna and flora due to the concentration of certain terrestrial environments (high density of bocage, afforestation, wetlands, etc.) on a substantial surface area. Local planning documents must specify their boundaries and protect them as they contribute to the quality of the ecological network as a whole. This layer includes the foreshore and marine environments known for their great ecological interest (block fields, eelgrass beds, maerl banks, etc.), some of which are subject to protection measures (classified sites, Natura 2000 ...). Local planning documents must specify their boundaries and protect them. Permeability areas conducive to ecological connections include interconnected natural environments such as grasslands, groves, hedgerows or wetlands, allowing the passage of a large number of species. The local planning documents shall identify the ecological corridors to be preserved or restored in good condition on the basis of these elements and shall lay down the arrangements for their preservation by means of planning guidelines or rules which ensure that the ecological functions in place are maintained. **Theme **Urbanism **Producer **ADEUPa **Attributions **Pôle métropolitain du Pays de Brest, Document approved on December 19, 2018 by the union committee of the metropolitan pole of the Pays de Brest - modified on October 22, 2019 - Made enforceable in its latest version on 19 November 2019 **Creator **SIG [**Detailed sheet **](https://public.brest-metropole.fr/VIPDU61/aspx/HTDU502.aspx?TYPE=FICHE&ID=URB_SCT_ContinuitesVetB) **INSPIRE ** **Id **URB_SCT_ContinuitesVetB **Type **polygons **Scale **100000 **Territory **Country of Brest (Outside CCPCP)
