SCoT of the Pays de Brest: Agglomeration

Description

The SCoT considers all the towns and certain historic centres of the merged municipalities (Plounéour-Trez and Brignogan-Plages in Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages, Quimerc’h in Pont-de-Buis-lès-Quimerc’h) to be agglomerations. The sectors of Lilia (Plouguerneau) and Portsall (Ploudalmézeau) are also considered agglomerations, because of the size of their population and services, comparable to other agglomerations in the Pays de Brest. All these spaces have at least one administrative equipment (town hall, annex town hall, school equipment for example). The SCoT also considers activity areas of more than 25 hectares as agglomerations. The ‘Lanvian eco-pole’ economic area of interest will be developed from the municipalities of Saint-Divy and Kersaint-Plabennec. It will therefore constitute a continuous agglomeration from which extensions can be made to the town of Guipavas. The SCoT locates all the agglomerations on the map ‘Implementation of the Coastal Law - 1’, page 54. It describes the boundaries of the agglomerations of Brest, Landerneau and Crozon (DOO, pp. 55 and 56). In agglomerations, local planning documents promote densification operations.
