HISTLAND

Description

HISTLAND (Historic Landscape Information System) contains geographical data on the mining history of the Dutch landscape and the degree of change in that landscape. The Dutch cultural landscape is rich in elements and traces that are the result of mining and habitation history. This information has been mapped in HISTLAND by means of 45 landscape types. It also shows how much a landscape type has changed in the period 1850-1980. With the help of HISTLAND, statements can be made about the cultural-historical value of a landscape.
